Northern California welterweight Nick Diaz, who suffered a defeat last Saturday to Carlos Condit, has tested positive for marijuana, according to a press release from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Tests conducted for last Saturday's UFC 143 revealed the presence of marijuana metabolites in the fighter's system, the commission reported Thursday.
Dana White, president of the Ultimate Fighting Championship organization, issued the following statement following the Nevada State Athletic Commissions report.

"I am beyond disappointed that he tested positive for marijuana," White said in a statement. "It is now in the hands of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
Diaz will face disciplinary action from the Nevada State Athletic Commission.
