SAN JOSE Sharks Executive Vice President and General ManagerDoug Wilson announced today that the club has traded defensemanDerek Joslin to the Carolina Hurricanes.

Joslin, originally drafted by San Jose in the fifth round (149th overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, played in 17 games with San Jose this season, notching four points (one goal, three assists) and eight penalty minutes.In 53 NHL games, all with the Sharks, Joslin posted seven points (one goal, six assists) and 26 penalty minutes.Courtesy San Jose Sharks media services
