Giants closer Brian Wilson is scheduled to come off the disabled list on Wednesday and manager Bruce Bochy told a San Diego radio station that the Giants are likely to activate the right-hander for the second game of of the San Diego series.

Wilson strained his left oblique March 23, and the Giants started the season in Los Angeles without him in the bullpen.

Giants manager Bruce Bochy told San Diego sports radio 1090 AM on Monday that Wilson would probably come off the DL on schedule.

"Willie threw well (Sunday) so he probably will be activated the second game," Bochy said. "So that's what we're looking at right now with him.

"I will check on him later (Monday), see how he's feeling, how he came out of this last session. And if he's good, yeah, Wednesday he'll be activated."

Wilson told reporters Sunday that he'd been "ready for two weeks" and emphasized that the next time he took the mound it would be in a real game.

He also said that nothing he did in the Sunday session hindered his throwing motion of his pitching mechanics.
