DETROIT -- For those who wondered if Patrick Marleau would rise and defend his honor in the face of Jeremy Roenicks condemnation of his innards, well, you judge. No points, one shot, two blocked shots, 3 of 6 in the circle.

Its this simple. San Jose is the top line in a small but enduring pantheon of throat-clutchers, some who have overcome themselves, and some who have not. There are eight of them in all NHL history, so this wont take long. The graphic to the right explains it all.

Wing Ryane Clowe, who did not make the trip to Detroit with an upper-body injury that head coach Todd McLellan said was not related to a fearsome shot he took from Niklas Kronwall in Game 5, is uncertain for Game 7. McLellan said he would be evaluated again Wednesday and Thursday, though if a concussion is feared, he could very well be scratched again.

San Jose won the faceoff battle, 32-22, but did so little after winning the draw that it became an essentially useless statistic. Detroit put 72 shots at the Sharks, 45 of which got through to Antti Niemi, San Jose only 52, 25 of which were tests for Detroit goalie Jimmy Howard.

Game 7 is 6 p.m. Thursday on CSN California. If there is a Sunday (and there will be, just maybe not for the Sharks), it will be 5 p.m. from Vancouver.
