The hiring process to find a new Warriors head coach is reportedly under way, with ex-Cavaliers coach Mike Brown and Mavericks assistant Dwane Casey in line to be interviewed, sources have told ESPN's Marc Stein.
According to the report, which was published shortly before 1 p.m. on Tuesday, "the Warriors, sources said, have also requested and received permission from the Mavericks to interview Casey, with an interview expected to take place before Dallas begins its Western Conference finals series against either Oklahoma City or Memphis, which will start Sunday at the earliest."

Warriors Insider Matt Steinmetz, who broke the news about Keith Smart's firing, responded to a question about Brown from a fan and acknowledged he was likely on Golden State's list.
Here was Steinmetz's take:
"Whether you like Mike Brown or not, he's got to be on any self-respecting team's list of coaches. His track record is too good and his coaching pedigree too legitimate. He might not be everyone's cup of tea, and there are certainly legitimate questions about whether he's got enough offensive creativity, but he's a proven coach and he'll work again, no doubt about it.At the end of the day, I don't think Brown is a good fit, however. The reason I'd be a little scared of Brown is because he's never coached a team without LeBron James on it, and the Warriors don't have anyone like LeBron James."
