Zito works seven strong innings in 2nd rehab start

Injured Giants starter Barry Zito made his second rehab start with the San Jose Giants and improved to 2-0 with seven innings of work in Modesto.

Zito allowed three runs, two earned, on six hits, including a home run and three walks. He also struck out six and six of his outs came by groundout, five by flyout.

The Giants' highest paid player sprained a ligament in his right foot on April 17 landing him on the disabled list for the first time in his career. Through three startswith the major league club this season, Zito is 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA.
