As Hardball Talk points out, Livan carried a 2.73 ERA as recently as May 25, but back-to-back poor outings doomed the starter-turned-reliever in Atlanta. His ERA ballooned to 4.94. DFA. Hernandez is available to any team that wants to pay him the prorated share of his minimum salary (750K) however, and Billy Beane knows a little something about a prorated share of a minimum contract.
