Sharks' Couture second in Calder Trophy voting

San Jose Sharks rookie forward Logan Couture finished second in the Calder Trophy voting on Wednesday, given out to the NHL's top first-year player.

In 79 games, Couture scored 32 goals to go with 24 assists, and averaged just under 18 minutes per game.

Jeff Skinner of the Carolina Hurricanes won the award, scoring 31 goals and chipping in 32 assists in just under 17 minutes a game.

Despite finishing in second, Couture was one of six first-year players named to the 2010-2011 All-Rookie team.
