Jim Riggleman, who resigned as manager of the Washington Nationals last month, will interview for a scouting position with the Giants.
Manager Bruce Bochy confirmed Tuesday that a conversation will take place next week.

"It would be something along the lines of scouting," Bochy said. "It's not on the field right now. It'd be looking at our system, consulting, things like that. All those things, we'd be talking about."
Riggleman abruptly retired from the Nationals after he was unable to secure an extension for his contract.
In 12 years as an MLB manager, Riggleman went 662-824, good for a .445 winning percentage. His longest -- and most successful -- managerial tenure was with the Cubs, when he compiled a 374-419 record in five full seasons at the helm. He led the Cubs to winning seasons in 1995 and 1998, the latter of which brought the Cubs their first playoff appearance since 1989.
Riggleman also managed the Padres (1992-1994, 112-179), Mariners (2008, 36-54) and Nationals (2009-2011, 140-172).
