The Giants have acquired 2B Jeff Keppinger from the Houston Astros via a trade.
In 43 games for the Astros this season, Keppinger was batting .307 with four HR and 20 RBI.

He also has fared well at AT&T Park, sporting a career BA of .347 (17-49) with a HR, 7 RBI and a .856 OPS.
In exchange, the Giants shipped minor league pitchers Henry Sosa and Jason Stoffel to Houston.
In 2011, Sosa was 3-1 with a 10.41 ERA in 17 games with Triple-A Fresno, and 5-2 with a 2.68 ERA in eight games (six starts) with Double-A Richmond.
Jason Stoffel was 1-2 with a 3.98 ERA in 32 relief appearances for Double-A Richmond in 2011.
