UPDATE: Hector Sanchez was not officially optioned Tuesday because of Miguel Tejada being placed on the disabled list. However, the Giants may send Sanchez down Wednesday when trade acquisition Jeff Keppinger is added to the 25-man roster.

Giants catcher Hector Sanchez has been optioned to Triple-A Fresno, according to his personal twitter account.

Sanchez was called up on July 15 and drew a walk in his first career major league plate appearance. In three games he went 0-for-3 with a walk.

In 25 games for Triple-A Fresno in 2011, Sanchez batted .305 with 12 RBI.

In 42 games for Single-A San Jose in 2011, Sanchez battled .301 with eight HR and 46 RBI.
