The 49ers' defense was on the field Saturday night for 78 plays against the Houston Texans at Candlestick Park.The first defense played just one quarter, but that still amounted to 21 snaps. Here's a look a player-by-player look at the 49ers' defense and specialists from Saturday's game:Defensive linemen
61-Sealver Siliga: Started second half at nose tackle . . . Texans center Cody Wallace moved him off the ball to open hole for Tate's 7-yard gain on a second-and-6. . . . Credited with two tackles.
63-Will Tukuafu: Entered the game at left defensive at the start of the second quarter, and was credited with two tackles . . . . Fought off block attempt by right tackle Eric Winston to stop running back Derrick Ward for no gain on a third-and-1. . . Controlled guard Darius Morris and showed his strength by grabbing Tate and stopping him for 1-yard gain in third quarter.
64-Ian Williams: Played nose tackle and right defensive end in the second half, mostly sharing time with Siliga. (Follow on Twitter @IWilliams95
71-Brian Bulcke: Entered the game at left defensive end in the second quarter. . . . . Credited with two tackles. . . Also hit Texans quarterback Leinart after coming around on a stunt on a fourth-quarter incomplete pas.
78-Demarcus Dobbs: Entered the game at right end midway through the second quarter, and saw extended action the rest of the way. . . . He blew past right guard Darius Morris to throw Leinart for 11-yard loss on a fourth-quarter sack.
90-Isaac Sopoaga: Started at nose tackle and remained there for the first drive of the second half when he and Carlos Rogers were the only starters still on the field. . . Credited with one tackle.
91-Ray McDonald: Started at left defensive end and played first 21 snaps . . . Got off block by right tackle Eric Winson to stop running back Arian Foster for 1-yard gain in first quarter.
94-Justin Smith: Started at right defensive end and played first 21 snaps. . . . Credited with two tackles.
95-Ricky Jean Francois: Entered the game at right defensive end at the start of the second quarter. Moved to nose tackle a couple plays later, and jumped offside on a third-and-5. . . .
