CSNCalifornia.comNAPA -- Raiders running back Michael Bush, arrested on Feb. 12 in Jeffersonville, Ind. on suspicion of OWI (Operating While Intoxicated), told CSNCalifornia.com the charges against him have been dropped."It's a relief," Bush said. "I just want it out there." Clark County Jail Public Information Officer Chuck Adams, reached outside of his office, said Thursday afternoon he was not sure of the exact disposition of Bush's case but oftentimes first-time offenses are reduced to a lesser offense, typically public intoxication. Adams said he would know the disposition on Friday morning, when he returned to work.Bush's agent, Atlanta-based Todd France, had yet to reply to messages. The Raiders had no comment at the moment.REWIND: Raiders RB Bush arrested for drunk driving
Bush had an interesting offseason in that he found himself classified a restricted free agent after the NFL lockout ended. He signed his first- and third-round tenders and reported to Raiders camp 10 days after the first team bus showed up in Wine Country.Selected in the fourth round of the 2007 draft out of Louisville, Bush is the lone member of that 11-player Raiders draft class -- former coach Lane Kiffin's first draft -- still with the team. He was classified a third-year player rather than a fourth-year veteran because the reason he did not play that first year was due to an injury he incurred in college, rather than with the Raiders. So he technically only has three years of service time.Raiders owner Al Davis praised Bush in the Jan. 18 media conference introducing Hue Jackson as the head coach."He brings that toughness (running the ball) to the secondary," Davis said. "I don't want to challenge certain teams in this league, but by the third and fourth quarter, they don't want to tackle Bush in the secondary. They just don't want him. He's 250 pounds (of) power, speed, so that's a plus for us."He rushed for a career-high 655 yards in 2010 with a career-best eight touchdowns. In last year's season finale, and with Darren McFadden out injured, Bush rumbled for a career-high 137 yards on 25 carries with a 26-yard touchdown run and caught four passes for 34 yards.
