The Impact training and competitive series will start next week in Las Vegas, and three Warriors are on the roster of players expected to be there: Stephen Curry, Dorell Wright and Ekpe Udoh. The Impact event was coordinated by trainer Joe Abunassar, who works with dozens of NBA players at his facility. His idea is to get as many NBA players prepared for a season -- whenever it may start -- by putting them through a two-week competitive series that will include regular drill work and pick-up games.Among the other players expected to be at Impact, which begins on Monday, are Zach Randolph, Chauncey Billups, Corey Maggette, Demar DeRozan and Jermaine O'Neal.
Curry underwent surgery in late May to strengthen his right ankle, and Impact will be the first time he tests it in a competitive environment. Thus far, Curry has been mostly rehabbing on his own in Charlotte.Wright has spent much of his summer in Los Angeles, working out with players on the campus of UCLA, and Udoh has spent a good chunk of the summer in Texax, where he is working on getting his degree from Baylor University. There is also a chance that David Lee and Jeremy Lin will also participate in the two-week program, although neither was listed on Impact's official roster.
