BIRMINGHAM, Mich.(AP) --San Francisco 49ers' receiver Braylon Edwards is suing a Michigan restaurant and three of its employees for more than 14 million for slander, extortion and malicious prosecution following an altercation. The suit in Oakland County Circuit Court claims that 15 million in guaranteed money from an NFL team was rescinded after allegations surfaced that Edwards was directly involved in the Aug. 1 incident at Birmingham's South restaurant.Edwards, a former star at Michigan, says he "was forced to take a contract" with another team for "only 1 million in guaranteed money."The suit claims the altercation started when some patrons harassed Edwards' party. Edwards says he left through a rear door. The Associated Press left a message Wednesday seeking comment from the restaurant's attorney.
