Warriors tell Bell to stay home

OAKLANDDont expect Warriors guard Charlie Bell at training camp anytime soon.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Bell has been informed to stay in
Michigan and not to return to the Bay Area for practice. It is unclear whether the Warriors delivered that message to Bells agent, Mark Bartelstein, or to Bell himself.

Bell spent time in jail on Thursday after he showed up to court legally intoxicated for an appearance related to a DUI arrest.

Bell has also been told that the possibility exists that the team may use the amnesty provision on him, meaning he would be waived and his 4.1 salary would come off the books.

If the Warriors do that, it would almost certainly be to make a run at Clippers center DeAndre Jordan, a restricted free agent. According to reports, Jordan has five-year, 40 million offer in front of him from L.A.

The Warriors would likely have to offer Jordan more than that -- and then hope the Clippers dont match the offer. L.A. has three days to either match the offer or not match the offer.
