49ers cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha recently and secretly married his girlfriend, actress Kerry Washington. The couple tied the knot on June 24 in Blaine County, Idaho.
The Blaine County Recorder's Office confirmed that a marriage license was issued at 9:16 a.m. on the 24th for Asomugha and Washington. Washington's parents, Earl and Valerie, signed the license as witnesses, and Asomugha's sister, Chisaraokwu, was listed as the minister.
The couple have been together for about a year, although their relationship, like their marriage two weeks ago, went under the radar.
More than two months before the marriage, Asomugha signed a one-year contract with San Fransisco. The 31-year-old was released in March by the Eagles. Before Philadelphia, Asomugha played on the other side of the Bay, spending eight seasons with the Raiders. The cornerback made three straight Pro Bowl appearances in his final three seasons with Oakland, including two First Team All-Pro selections in 2008 and 2010.
Washington, 36, currently stars in the ABC series "Scandal" and has had major roles in films such as "Django Unchained" and "Ray."
