The 49ers placed safety Darcel McBath on injured reserve and claimed LB Joe Holland off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team announced today.

McBath originally signed with the 49ers on July 20, 2012. Last season, he appeared in all 16 regular season games, all three postseason contests, and in the Super Bowl he stopped Ravens kicker Justin Tucker short of a first down when Baltimore attempted a fake field goal late in the first half.

Holland (6-1, 229) originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2012, and was later waived prior to the start of the regular season. He was signed to the Miami Dolphins practice squad on October 16, only to be released on October 23.

Holland then spent time on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad, in 2012. Following the season, he signed with the Buccaneers on January 2, 2013, and was later waived on August 21.
