Veteran wide receivers Austin Collie and Lavelle Hawkins had to wait until the fourth quarter Sunday night to get their first snaps on offense.

Collie was limited to only 14 snaps, which might not bode well for his future with the 49ers. He did not see any action special teams in the 49ers' 34-14 victory over the Minnesota Vikings in the third exhibition game for both teams.

The 49ers played five wide receivers through the first three quarters of action: Anquan Boldin, Marlon Moore, Quinton Patton, Jon Baldwin and Chad Hall. Boldin, Moore, Patton, Baldwin and Kyle Williams are considered the team's top five wide receivers.

Hawkins played just six snaps on offense. He was removed from the game after catching a 22-yard pass and getting called for unsportsmanlike conduct. On his only special-teams play, Hawkins returned a kickoff 105 yards but was penalized twice after scoring the touchdown for unsportsmanlike conduct.

Collie and Hawkins were late additions to the 49ers' training camp competition. Both players took part in a workout on Aug. 2 and were signed later in the day.
