With an esteemed background of X's and O's, head coach Chip Kelly brings prolific offensive ingenuity in his first year with the 49ers.
And one player in San Francisco most excited to hit the field because of it is featured running back Carlos Hyde.
“It’s been great having Coach Kelly there,” Hyde on Thursday said on SiriusXM Blitz.

“I feel like the team has bought into his system. Even though it's new to most guys, I'm kind of familiar with the system from college. But I definitely feel like everybody has bought into the system. And guys are just really looking forward this season. Guys are really looking forward to making a name for themselves.”
Hyde played in Urban Meyer's system at Ohio State where he rumbled for 1,521 yards at a career-high 7.3 yards per carry, and scored 15 rushing touchdowns in his final season.
He also tacked on 147 yards and three receiving touchdowns in 2013.
"My whole plan going into the season is to be the best running back I can be for my team," he added. "Do what I have to do as a running back to help my team win games, whether we have a coach or not. I have to go out here and do my job."

Hyde is excited to begin his third season after being limited to seven starts in 24 games over his first two.
"I definitely believe that his system will help showcase all my abilities," said the 49ers running back. "Not just as a ball carrier, but also as a threat in the passing game. So it's just, to me, this system is just a blessing in disguise. I'm really looking forward to this year. I'm very excited about this year. I think it's going to be an exciting year."
