The 49ers on Wednesday released wide receiver Marlon Moore, clearing a roster spot that could be used for Mario Manningham.

Moore played in six games this season with one reception for six yards.

Coach Jim Harbaugh said this week Manningham is on track to return from a torn ACL sustained last December in Week 16.

The 49ers return Nov. 10 to play the Carolina Panthers at Candlestick Park, and it's possible Manningham could be in the starting lineup opposite Anquan Boldin.
