HOUSTON –- The B-Team took the field for the 49ers’ in the exhibition finale Thursday night against the Houston Texans.
Only three of the team’s presumptive starters for the regular-season opener were in the 49ers’ starting lineup.
Quarterback Blaine Gabbert got the starting assignment in place of Colin Kaepernick. Coach Jim Harbaugh said Kaepernick would play in the final exhibition game, but he did not follow-through, as he wanted to take no chances before the 49ers' regular-season opener Sept. 7 against the Dallas Cowboys.
