The San Francisco 49ers will sign free agent quarterback John Skelton, a source confirmed to CSN Bay Area after an initial report from Matt Barrows.

The addition of a quarterback makes sense in the aftermath of the news that the 49ers waived rookie quarterback B.J. Daniels Tuesday.
