The 49ers on Monday waived linebacker Darius Fleming, a 2012 draft pick who never played a game due to knee injuries, and two other players to make room for the signings of undrafted free agents.

Stanford linebacker Shayne Skov headlined a group of seven undrafted free agent signings who signed Monday.

In addition to Fleming, the 49ers also waived wide receiver DeMarco Sampson and cornerback Dax Swanson.

The 49ers signed Skov, tight end Asante Cleveland (Miami), quarterback Kory Faulkner (Southern Illinois), linebacker Morgan Breslin (USC), center Dillon Farrell (New Mexico), tackle Fou Fonoti (Michigan State) and defensive back L.J. McCray (Catawba).

Fleming was a fifth round pick of the 49ers from Notre Dame. He sustained a torn ACL in each of his two offseasons with the club. Running back LaMichael James and guard Joe Looney are the only players who remain on the 49ers’ roster from the seven-player draft class of 2012.
