In a move that was inevitable, the 49ers waived Brandon Carswell Tuesday after the rookie wide receiver sustained an ACL tear last week.

When he clears waivers, Carswell will revert to the 49ers injured reserve list.

The 49ers had just signed Carswell to a two-year contract on Wednesday shortly before the injury occurred just minutes after he took the practice field for the first time.
