The 49ers on Tuesday waived guard Al Netter to make room on their 90-man roster for the signing of free agent Blake Costanzo, the team announced.

Costanzo, a special teams standout in 2011 who played the past two seasons with the Chicago Bears, signed a one-year contract.

Netter, a Rohnert Park native, originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent from Northwestern in 2012. He re-signed with the 49ers' practice squad in October of last season.
