The 49ers invested a second-round pick last year on Vance McDonald. And two others on the team behind Vernon Davis on the depth chart (Garrett Celek and Derek Carrier) have a combined three years of NFL experience.
But the 49ers could use one of their scheduled 11 draft picks to add a little more bulk to the roster.
The 49ers have two pre-draft visits scheduled at their Santa Clara facility with at least a pair of big-bodied tight ends.

C.J. Fiedorowicz of Iowa visited the 49ers last week, according to National Football Post. And McNeese State’s Nic Jacobs has a visit scheduled to the 49ers’ Santa Clara facility, reports Gil Brandt of NFL.com.
Fiedorowicz (6 foot 5 1/2 , 265 pounds) caught 91 passes for 899 yards and 10 touchdowns in 38 career games with the Hawkeyes. NFLDraftScout.com ranks him as a third- or fourth-round draft pick.
Jacobs, a transfer from LSU, caught 32 passes for 453 yards and four touchdowns last season at McNeese State. Jacobs (6-5, 269) could be a seventh-round selection or available as an undrafted free agent.
