SANTA CLARA – Coach Jim Harbaugh had nothing more to say about Green Bay Packers outside linebacker Clay Matthews, who was fined $15,000 for his late hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

But 49ers right guard Alex Boone answered Friday when asked what kind of fine he would give Matthews.

“Probably punch him in the face,” Boone said. “I don’t want his money.”

Boone’s response is consistent with what Harbaugh said Monday about Matthews, who scuffled with 49ers left tackle Joe Staley after the late hit on Kaepernick.

“I could see two punches thrown to Joe’s head -- well, one punch and one open slap, which . . . if you’re going to go to the face, come with some knuckles,” Harbaugh said. “I think that young man works very hard on being a tough guy. He’ll have some repairing to do to his image after the slap.”

The 49ers had two players fined in the game. Ahmad Brooks was fined $12,750 for a roughing-the-passer penalty on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. And wide receiver Anquan Boldin was fined $7,875 for a hit at the sideline on Green Bay’s Jarrett Bush at the end of a play on which Kaepernick gained 15 yards on a scramble in the third quarter.

“I have zero reaction to the fines,” Harbaugh said on Friday. “At the direction of the league, I have nothing to say about that.”
