Harbaugh talks Brooks' leap, 'meritocracy' on defensive line
Programming note: For comprehensive 49ers-Seahawks coverage tune in to 49ers Central tonight at 6:30 on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.
SANTA CLARA – Linebacker Ahmad Brooks was dressed as if the 49ers were back in Green Bay.
On a sunny 60-degree day in the South Bay, Brooks wore sweatpants, a long-sleeved shirt and a head sock. He planned to return to the field Thursday after not participating in practice on Wednesday.
“I’m feeling all right,” Brooks said. “Just got a head cold, a severe cold. I’m trying to sweat it out as much as possible and get ready for the game.”
The 49ers advanced to the NFC Championship on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks with Brooks playing a key role.
Brooks, a second-team All-Pro selection, is coming off a strong game in the 49ers’ 23-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers in the divisional round of the NFC playoffs. Brooks recorded 2 ½ sacks and made some important stops on the goal line in the victory.
