Three and Out: Crabtree update, Brooks doesn't want Lewis' money
The 49ers will place Michael Crabtree on the 53-man roster no later than Tuesday so he will be eligible to play this season.
SANTA CLARA – Wide receiver Michael Crabtree was not in uniform or wearing pads while his 49ers teammates were going through individual drills at the beginning of practice on Thursday.
But after taking part in a “specialized warmup” with head strength and conditioning coach Mark Uyeyama, Crabtree participated in at least a portion of practice, a 49ers spokesman said.
Crabtree remains on the reserve/physicailly-unable-to-perform list as he rehabs his surgically repaired right Achilles tendon. The 49ers will place Crabtree on the 53-man roster no later than Tuesday so he will be eligible to play this season.

Crabtree was not included in the team’s Thursday injury report, which must be submitted to the NFL following practice, because it applies only to players on the 53-man roster.
Cornerback Tarell Brown (ribs) and guard Mike Iupati (knee) did not practice Thursday and are not expected to be available for Monday’s game against Washington.
Defensive linemen Ray McDonald and Justin Smith did not practice. McDonald is expected to miss his second consecutive game with a high-ankle sprain, while Smith’s routine this season has typically consisted of one day off.
Quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who was moving gingerly after the 49ers’ 23-20 loss to the New Orleans Saints, was on the injury report with an unspecified back condition. Kaepernick took part in full practice.
