SANTA CLARA – Wide receiver Michael Crabtree did not participate in practice Wednesday, and he was not spotted on the field Thursday, either.

When asked if Crabtree has sustained any setback in his return from a torn right Achilles, 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman said, “None that I know of. He’s progressing nicely.”

Crabtree was cleared to begin practicing last week – six months after surgery. He remains on the reserve/physically-unable-to-perform list. The 49ers have a 21-day window, which began when he first practiced, to activate him to the 53-man roster.

Crabtree is not expected to be available for Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. The 49ers next play Monday, Nov. 25, against the Washington Redskins. The next day is the deadline for the 49ers to activate Crabtree.
