Eight franchise-tagged players in 2013

NFL teams had until 1 p.m. PT Monday to announce which of their players -- if any -- they would choose to keep from free agency by applying the franchise tag. Per the NFL and the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), a team can designate one “franchise” player or one “transition” player among its veteran free agents.

Eight teams made the choice to franchise-tag a veteran:
