TEMPE, Ariz. -- The Arizona Cardinals have signed wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr. to a three-year contract and agreed to terms on a two-year deal to keep linebacker Matt Shaughnessy.

Ginn had 36 receptions for 556 yards and a career-high five touchdowns while playing with the Carolina Panthers in 2013. Ginn also returned 26 punts for 316 yards, setting a franchise record with a 12.2-yard average.

The 28-year-old seven-year veteran spent three seasons with the 49ers from 2010 to '12. He caught 33 passes for 284 yards and one touchdown, returned 94 punts for 1,113 yards (11.8 yard average) and two scores and he returned 87 kickoffs for 2,045 yards (23.5 yards average) and one touchdown.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pound Shaughnessy recorded a career-high 62 tackles while leading the Cardinals with three fumble recoveries in 2013. He also had three sacks and a forced fumble.

The team also announced that it had released linebacker Dontay Moch.
