Safety Dashon Goldson was not suited up for practice Friday afternoon for the 49ers' final practice of the week and he is not expected to be in uniform when the 49ers face the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday in the regular-season opener.

Goldson appeared to be the only player on the 49ers' 53-man roster who was not available for practice today. Per league rules, teams must keep practices open to the local media for for the first 30 minutes or until team drills began. The open period lasted 13 minutes on Friday.Goldson has not practiced since experiencing knee soreness last week. He is not wearing a brace or sleeve on his knee. Veteran Madieu Williams is expected to start at free safety on Sunday, alongside strong safety Donte Whitner.
