SANTA CLARA -- Running back Frank Gore walked through the 49ers locker room on Friday with a huge ice pack attached to his left side.Gore confirmed what CSNBayArea.com first reported Thursday night, that he has bruised ribs after taking a hit from Seattle cornerback Brandon Browner on a 6-yard catch midway through the second quarter."He came in there hard, man," Gore said. "It was a clean hit I had the ball. My back was turned away from him when he came in."Gore said the pain got worse as the game went on, and turned into the worst pain he has ever had to play through, mainly because he could not catch his breath.RELATED: 49ers rely on defense, Gore in tough win over Seahawks
Still, Gore racked up 22 receiving yards and 102 rushing yards after the hit, including a season-long 37-yard carry. His last play was a 20-yard run with 8:44 left in the fourth quarter. He then left the game with a trainer to have X-rays taken. The results were negative, and Gore says he is much-improved Friday."I feel better now than last night," Gore said. "It was tough to breathe."The team has the weekend off and does not have to return until Monday at 11 a.m., but Gore will remain at the facility through the weekend."I worked out today. I went in and did what the trainer's said I could do," Gore said. "I'll come in tomorrow, do what I gotta do again. Keep myself ready."
