The NFL handed out fines this week for and against 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The league slapped 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick with a $7,875 fine for grabbing the facemask of pursuing Carolina Panthers pass rusher A.J. Klein on Sunday.

Carolina safety Quintin Mikell was also fined $7,875 for his hit on a sliding Kaepernick in the third quarter.

Kaepernick was penalized for grabbing Klein's facemask as he tried to get away in the first quarter. Klein had a handle on Kaepernick's jersey and spun him around. The Panthers declined the penalty because referee Carl Cheffers ruled that Kaepernick's forward progress had been stopped, resulting in a 14-yard sack.

The NFL did not levy any fines for the helmet-to-helmet collision on which 49ers safety Eric Reid sustained a concussion while taking Panthers running back Mike Tolbert.
