Now that the 2013 regular season is officially over, we know exactly who the 49ers will play in the 2014 regular season.
San Francisco will play its customary six games against the NFC West (Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams two times each), plus four games against the AFC West (Raiders, Broncos, Chiefs, Chargers), and four games against the NFC East (Cowboys, Redskins, Eagles, Giants) for a total of 14 games.
The 49ers finished this season in second place in the NFC West, so to complete the 16-game schedule for 2014 they will play the teams that finished in second place in the NFC North and NFC South -- meaning they will face the Chicago Bears and the New Orleans Saints.
The 49ers last faced all four teams from the NFC East in 2011 -- Jim Harbaugh's first season as head coach. San Francisco defeated the Eagles, Giants and Redskins but lost to the Cowboys.
The 49ers last faced all four teams from the AFC West in 2010. San Francisco defeated Denver and Oakland but lost to Kansas City and San Diego.
The NFL will announce times and dates for the 2014 schedule in the spring.
