Manningham's status remains uncertain

SANTA CLARA -- Wide receiver Mario Manningham's status for 49ers' game Sunday against the New England Patriots remains questionable after he was a limited participant in practice Thursday with a shoulder injury.

Outside linebacker Aldon Smith (shoulder) was also limited, but his availability for Sunday's game is not in question. Smith has experienced shoulder soreness for the past month and has continue to play nearly every snap on defense.

Manningham has missed two games with his shoulder injury, including the 49ers' 27-13 victory over the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Manningham is the 49ers' second-leading receiver this season with 41 catches for 449 yards and one touchdown.
