The Super Bowl-champion Seattle Seahawks visited the White House on Wednesday, and one of the biggest rounds of applause came when President Barack Obama mentioned the 49ers.
Of course, Obama noted the Seahawks beat the “rival 49ers” in the NFC Championship game, which elicited a robust cheer from those attending the event.
"I knew you guys would clap on that one,” Obama said.
But whatever approval rating points the president might have lost from 49ers fans with that comment, he likely made up with another observation.
Obama, alluding to the engineering of the overhang that protects most of the Seattle crowd from the rain, quipped, "You all have that stadium that's kind of cheating because it's so loud.”
