The Panthers may have another weapon at their disposal come Sunday's NFC Divisional round against the 49ers.

Carolina wide receiver Steve Smith said Monday that he will play next Sunday, and it's just a matter of having confidence in his knee according to the Charlotte Observer.

"It's not about can I go? It's about how confident do I feel when I am going? I will play Sunday," Smith said to the Charlotte Observer. "But it's how much of that I don't worry about the knee. That's when the confidence increases."

Earlier in the day Smith said there was just a 60 percent chance that he would play before recanting and saying with more certainty that he would be ready to go against San Francisco.

Smith suffered a PCL sprain during Week 16 against the New Orleans Saints and sat out the final game of the season against the Atlanta Falcons.
