Craig Dahl's old team had incredible success against his new team last season, and according to the safety, there was a reason why.

Dahl told CSNBayArea.com's Matt Maiocco that while he was with the Rams last season, they picked up tendencies that allowed them to decifer whether the 49ers were going to run or pass.

"We had a few tips off of film that we were able to differentiate between run and pass early," Dahl said. "So that kind of gave us an added benefit on defense."

One of Dahl's former teammates and current Rams' cornerback, Cortland Finnegan wasn't too happy about Dahl giving up insider secrets and fired back at his ex-teammate on Twitter.

The 49ers and Rams meet for the first time in 2013 in Week 4 in St. Louis on Thursday, September 26 in a nationally televised game. They don't play again until a Week 13 showdown on Sunday, December 1 in San Francisco.

Be on alert for pre-game fireworks between Dahl and Finnegan.
