The 49ers agreed to a contract with undrafted free agent punter Colton Schmidt of UC Davis, according to the Baltimore Sun.

Does this mean Andy Lee has to worry about making the team? It's quite the opposite, really, as he will now be able to get some extra rest for his leg during training camp.

After earning a trip to the Pro Bowl and receiving First-Team All-Pro honors in 2011, Lee signed a six-year contract extension with the 49ers in May, 2012.

He responded with a second straight First-Team All-Pro selection last season, despite not making the Pro Bowl.

He was also named First-Team All-Pro in 2007.
