The Broncos have offered a five-year contract to wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, according to multiple media reports.

The four-year veteran has been the leading pass-catcher for quarterback Peyton Manning and the Broncos, hitting his stride the past two years with back-to-back 1,400-plus-yard seasons.

In 2013, he had eight games with 100 or more receiving yards, helping Denver reach its first Super Bowl since 1998.

Thomas, 26, may be the first in a long line of premier receivers due for new contracts in 2015 to actually receive one. The list includes, but is not exclusive to:

Wes Welker, Broncos
Michael Crabtree, 49ers
Julio Jones, Falcons
Roddy White, Falcons
Jordy Nelson, Packers
Randall Cobb, Packers
Reggie Wayne, Colts
A.J. Green, Bengals
Dez Bryant, Cowboys

This potential deal could serve as a barometer, setting the market for impending free agent wide receivers looking for new money.
