Vernon Davis is reportedly headed home.

The free agent tight end agreed to terms with Washington, according to Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports.

Davis was born in Washington D.C. and played his college football at Maryland.

The 49ers selected Davis with the sixth overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft.

San Francisco traded him to the Broncos in early November.

The Super Bowl champion ranks No. 1 in 49ers history among tight ends with 441 receptions, 5,640 yards and 55 touchdowns.

Washington's current general manager, Scot McCloughan, was San Francisco's VP of Player Personnel when Davis was drafted.
