A job like Penn State is a lifetime job. That's a job if I were to become the head coach there, I wouldn't leave there.

San Francisco offensive coordinator Greg Roman, who has drawn the interest of the Minnesota Vikings for their head-coaching job, is reportedly scheduled to interview for the Penn State opening, too.

Roman interviewed for the Penn State job before Bill O’Brien was hired in 2012. O’Brien recently became the coach of the Houston Texans. Roman has already conducted an "off-site" interview with Penn State, CBS Sports reported Wednesday morning

"I've coached in college at Stanford and in the pros for 14 years in the NFL, so it's more about the individual opportunity, the people you're surrounding yourself with," Roman said in January 2012. "And a job like Penn State is a lifetime job. That's a job if I were to become the head coach there, I wouldn't leave there.”

The Vikings are the only team that has requested permission to interview Roman for their head-coaching opening, a source told CSNBayArea.com. Washington is also reportedly interested in Roman and 49ers defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.

Roman did not make the trip back from Green Bay with the team after their playoff game on Sunday to interview for a job, Scout.com reported. But a source said Roman was at the 49ers’ practice facility on Monday and Tuesday to work on the game plan for Sunday’s playoff game against the Carolina Panthers.
