SANTA CLARA -- Wide receiver Ronald Johnson, a member of the 49ers’ 2011 draft class, signed Thursday with the Seattle Seahawks to fill out their 90-man camp roster.
The Seahawks signed Johnson to fill the roster spot created when tight end Anthony McCoy sustained his second season-ending Achilles injury in two seasons.
Johnson was the shortest-tenured 49ers player from 2011 draft. The 49ers waived him in training camp and did not bring him back to the practice squad as a rookie.
Johnson spent time on the Philadelphia Eagles’ practice squad. He has never appeared in an NFL regular-season game. Johnson played college ball at USC under Seahawks coach Pete Carroll.
