Wide receiver Andrew Turzilli, who spent five weeks on the 49ers’ practice squad, signed Tuesday with the Tennessee Titans.

The Titans added two receivers to their 53-man roster after placing cornerback Jason McCourty and wide receiver Justin Hunter on injured reserve. The Titans also promoted receiver Tre McBride from their own practice squad.

Turzilli (6 foot 4, 195 pounds) signed with the 49ers on Oct. 13. Teams are allowed to sign players off the practice squads of other NFL teams without providing any compensation.

Turzilli originally signed with the Titans as an undrafted rookie from Rutgers. The Titans placed him on injured reserve at the team’s final cuts. He agreed to an injury settlement within five days, making him eligible to re-sign later in the season with the Titans.

The 49ers on Monday signed tackle Donald Hawkins and tight end Brian Leonhardt to the team’s practice squad. They took the spots that opened when the 49ers promoted cornerbacks Marcus Cromartie and Chris Davis to the active roster.

The 49ers have one vacancy on their 10-player practice squad.
