The Vikings signed free agent TE Brian Leonhardt, the club announced on Monday morning.

Last Friday, Leonhardt announced on Twitter that he would be signing with Minnesota.

On Feb. 22, the 49ers waived Leonhardt, who appeared in the final four games of the 2015 season.

He signed with San Francisco's practice squad on Nov. 17, and was promoted to the active roster a month later after tight end Garrett Celek was placed on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain. In four games, Leonhardt caught one pass for four yards.

Leonhardt will not count in the compensatory draft pick formula

The 25-year old is a native of Spring Lake Park, Minnesota.

Over 12 games for the Raiders in 2014, Leonhardt caught six passes for 35 yards and a touchdown.
