OAKLAND -- Josh Reddick's four-game rehab stint at Class A Stockton and triple-A Sacramento went according to plan and the Gold Glove-winning right fielder is back in the A's lineup for their series opener against the Chicago White Sox.
Reddick is batting seventh and playing right field.
Catcher Luke Montz was optioned to Sacramento in the corresponding roster move.
Reddick, who initially sprained his right wrist running into the wall in foul territory in Houston on April 7, tried to play through the injury but was placed on the disabled list on May 8, retroactive to May 7.
With the A's, Reddick is batting .152 in 29 games with one home run and 14 runs batted in. On his rehab stint, he hit a combined .214 (three for 14) with three walks, , two strikeouts, two stolen bases and five runs scored while playing right field twice and serving as a designated hitter two other times. He also had a nice diving catch in right field for the River Cats.
Montz, meanwhile, batted .179 for the A's in 13 games with a homer and five RBI, starting eight games.
