Louis Sanchez, 29, and Marvin Norwood, 30, appeared before a judge Monday for the first time since being charged with assault and mayhem in connection with the beating of Giants fan Bryan Stow. Sanchez is also being charged with misdemeanor assault and battery on two other suspects.

Sanchez requested a bail hearing for August 1. Norwood requested that his bail be reduced to 100,000, but the judge set bail at 500,000, citing that Norwood would "pose a threat to the safety of the public."

Reports have surfaced that Sanchez's sister and Norwood's long-term partner Dorene implicated both men. But Sanchez's attorney Gilbert Quinones addressed the media after the court session, saying that to his knowledge, she was not in a position to do so.

Quinones conceded Louis Sanchez was at Dodger Stadium on May 31, the night of the incident, but claimed that his client does not fit the profile of the suspect.

Their arraignment was postponed until August 10.
